Rutland Rotaract Family Support Centre
Rutland Rotaract Family Support Centre (RRFSC) in Oakham, England aims to provide social, recreational, educational and therapeutic support to children and young people (0-25) with additional needs and their families.
The Family Centre was set up by a group of families, with fundraising support from the Rutland Rotaract Club, and opened in 1999 by HRH Princess Anne.
The Family Centre became a registered charity in 2005 and is still run by families for families.
We cater to families with a range of needs from Autism and ADHD, to physical and sensory impairment, genetic conditions such as Down's Syndrome, as well as those who have no formal diagnosis.
The Family Centre’s support is not restricted to the individual child or young person. The whole family is welcome to access any of our social events: the Summer Barbecue, Sunday lunches, or any regular activities.
This gives families the chance to meet socially and many friendships have followed as a result.
We are the only provider of this type in Rutland.
